Project description

Project Health Resilience is a London-based health literacy programme designed to empower young people aged 16-19 to confidently access the health system, engage in key health discussions, and help reduce health inequalities.

The programme is delivered in education and youth settings by doctors and public health specialists and comprises 4 key modules including:

  • Access to Healthcare
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Mental Health Resilience
  • Immunisations and Screening

Full delivery was put on hold in March 2024 in order to secure funding for the ongoing delivery and sustainability of the programme. Charitable status is also being explored.

In 2026, the programme is currently focusing on delivering impactful screening and immunisation sessions to ensure young people have the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions on vaccinations.

During the delivery period of April 2023 to March 2024 the following was achieved:

  • 68 sessions delivered
  • 1067 attendees
  • 13 different settings
  • From 9 London Boroughs

The project was also formally evaluated by LSHTM.
